Sit down with one of our treatment providers, talk through your skin and what you want to change, and leave with a plan. Consultations are free, they happen in person at The Med Spa, and they generally run 30 minutes to 1 hour. Call us and we will book you in.

What is a consultation?
A consultation is a conversation, not a treatment. You meet one of our treatment providers at The Med Spa, we look at your skin, we listen to what is bothering you and what you would like to change, and we tell you which treatments fit and which ones do not. There is no charge for it.
It is free. Every in person consultation is free, whichever treatment you are asking about.
It is in person. At The Med Spa, 210 Masonic Lodge Road, Wimberley. We want to see your skin and get to know you before we treat you.
30 minutes to 1 hour. The length depends on what the consultation is for, so call us and we will set aside the right amount of time.
With a treatment provider. You talk it through with one of the providers who carry out the treatments.
A consultation is not a medical evaluation The consultation is free and in person with a treatment provider. The medical evaluation is a separate $40 telemed appointment with our Medical Director, required by Texas law before advanced treatments. Read how the medical evaluation works.
When you need one
Do I need a consultation before I can book?
Short answer, yes, if you are a new client or it is a new service for you. After that it depends on the treatment.
Book straight in online
Facials, light peels, massage, waxing and tinting can be booked online without a consultation first. A consultation is still encouraged, and it is still free.
Ask for a consultation first
Anything advanced needs a consultation if you are new to us or the service is new to you: injectables, microneedling, Secret RF, IPL, Laser Genesis, laser hair removal and VI Peels.
That holds even if you have had the treatment before somewhere else. We would like at least a mini consultation so we can be sure we can provide what you need, and so we know you and your skin before we do any service on you.
Injectables, microneedling, Secret RF, IPL and Laser Genesis also need a medical evaluation, which we book once the consultation is complete. Laser hair removal does not need one.
What to expect
What happens in a consultation
It is time set aside to talk, so you can ask everything you want to ask and decide afterward.
We listen first. What is bothering you, what you have tried before, and what you want to change.
We look at your skin. In person, so we can be sure we can provide what you need.
We talk through the options. Which treatments fit, what each one costs, how long an appointment takes, and how many sessions it usually needs.
We book what comes next. For an advanced treatment we book your medical evaluation once the consultation is complete. For a facial, a light peel, massage, waxing or tinting you can book online yourself, or we will book it while you are here.
Separate from a consultation
What is a medical evaluation?
A short review with our Medical Director of your medical history, your skin concerns and your goals, so we can confirm which treatments are right for you. It is not the same thing as the free consultation in the office, and Texas law requires it once a year before any advanced treatment.
Required every year by Texas law. It covers anything considered an advanced treatment: anything involving a needle, and lasers. Laser hair removal does not require it.
Friday mornings, 8:00 to 9:00am, by video call. Times can change with the doctor’s availability.
$40, and it is good for a year. The appointment itself takes about five minutes.
With our Medical Director. A yearly physical with your primary doctor does not count.
It has to be current when you come in. If you have not completed a medical evaluation, or yours has not been updated before your appointment, we will cancel the appointment until it is completed.
We book your medical evaluation after your consultation is complete. It can also be arranged over the phone: call us, we talk it through, book you in with our Medical Director, and put the evaluation on file.
Medical evaluation
$40A five minute telemed appointment with our Medical Director, on Friday mornings between 8:00 and 9:00am. Required once a year before injectables, laser and microneedling. Laser hair removal does not require it.
